Cyfannol Women's Aid delighted with new website

Cyfannol Women's Aid recently launched their new website, created and built by us here at Designworld. The responsive website, designed to work on multiple platforms, had to successfully communicate information clearly and quickly to a varied audience, from service users to corporate sponsors.

Following in the footsteps of the Bishops

The Tywi Gateway Project is a community driven landscape restoration project led by The Welsh Historic Gardens Trust at Bishop's Park. Our client wanted a logo which would connect with users, be easy to digest, and communicate immediately what the park had to offer. The illustrative nature of the logo was designed to enable it to be extended throughout all communications at the park, from brochures to signage and eventually to interactive user experience.

Two days in Nottingham

We were asked again this year to work alongside BSHAA to help deliver a high quality, successful Annual Congress. It's always a thrill to get involved in a project from start to finish - from scribbles on a piece of paper (yes, we're old school!) to actual production and build. The East Midlands Conference Centre in the grounds of Nottingham University was a superb venue and both the client and conference delegates were delighted with our contribution to their flagship event.

Is it strange to love maps so much? Ceri does, and so it was with great pleasure that we were tasked with creating some new site maps for Celsa's Tremorfa and Castle Works sites. Combining a number of existing maps, Celsa staff's handwritten scribbles and online resources, we were able to create a set of new, clear maps for visitors to both sites.

As seems to be a developing tradition, our 'christmas party' this year found us sipping cider at the waterfront in Bristol and listening to some loud music at the academy.

It's a foreign language...

What happens when you need to create a piece of communication to be used overseas in a number of languages including Mandarin? A well known London based environmental organisation had just that challenge and chose Designworld to help them produce a large handbook on new European rules and regulations.

Creating technical material in a number of languages provided a unique set of challenges but we're happy to say that our balance of experience and understanding ensured we were able to deliver the handbooks with a consistent brand and clear message.

Tackling a late request

We were recently asked to help an international TV production company when they urgently needed a variety of prints to appear in one of their sporting programmes. Happy to be reminded of some great performances from The Rugby World Cup, we were able to work with the files supplied and run out some great prints in the nick of time!

New logo for Cyfannol Women's Aid

Following the merger of Torfaen Women's Aid and Women's Aid in Monmouthshire in July 2015, the organisation has been renamed as Cyfannol Women's Aid. We are pleased to have been appointed to update the logo for the new organisation.

Cyfannol means 'holistic and integrated' which describes the new organisation's approach to managing their services and is reflected in the new logo.

Better Advice, Better Lives

Citizens Advice have a new corporate identity so it was interesting to produce some new items for Citizens Advice Torfaen using the new style.



Citizens Advice is a household name, respected and trusted. They help millions of people every year, but there are others they don’t reach and so they are refreshing their brand to bring it in line with their modern service. The brand is to help ensure that everyone knows who they are and how they can help – now, and in the future.

We think the new style looks great on these first items and we look forward to developing it onto various items - including a new pop-up exhibition stand - very soon.
